Any size is right

cf/x alpha always works with the best possible resolution. Your output rendering quality is only limited by the source image's resolution.

If your image uses transparency or masks, both will instantly be re-rendered for any resolution.

Powerful blends at your fingertips

You can instantly assign one of over 25 blend generators to your images. Once assigned, you can further configure your blends using easy sliders and pop-up menus, while alpha re-renders your composition in real-time.

The above knock-out effect was rendered agaist a beautiful Zürich sunset. Note how you can control average transparency of each individual blend, making it possible to create unobtrusive watermarks in a few seconds.

Note also that you could invert blend direction with a single click, effective punching transparent holes into your image to reveal whatever lies beneath that image.

You want 3D?

Two dimensions aren't enough for you? A built-in uniquely powerful blend generator allows you to roatate your images in 3D with full camera control - while retaining all other properties (including previously applied blends and transparency).

The result can even be further blended with whatever comes to your mind. Of course, the 3D blend generates the required blend mask should you want to export to any other aplication (e.g. web publishing, presentation software etc.)

Never worry about your source images

cf/x alpha will never touch your source images. Upon import, it will create a file link so it remembers what the source image is, but it will never write to it. If the source image changes, these changes will flow into cf/x alpha (important for some workflow integrations).

You retain full control over this link: you can sever it at any time, preventing any further changes of the source to be propagated to your composition. If you sever a link, cf/x alpha will create a local copy, and still retain all non-destructive editing capabilities.

Sometimes, size does matter

Every once in a while, you need pixel-perfect precision. For example, the image must be exactly 163 by 109 pixels in size. Or 4.22 x 2.82 cm. No matter what your requirement, cf/x alpha can do that for you. Even better, it is able to calculate the best fit of an image for any given dimensions without distorting it. And if you have a constraint on only one dimension (for example your image needs to be exactly 1 inch wide, but can be as tall as you like), preserving the image's proportions is only a single click away - and with it, all transparency masks and blends.

Export - big time, any time, in no time

Once you have completed your composition it is time to export it. cf/x alpha can export in many different file formats, with and without transparency - or just the transparency if you really want. Furthermore, it can scale the composition to any measurement you need - at any resolution. That way you don't have to worry about those pesky details when you create your artwork, and can change your mind any time that you want. Or have alpha upload your compositions to social networks.

Taka a picture of your liking as basis and let alpha create a corresponding mosaic - using a group of images that you have predefined as source.

Start by simply choosing the Mosaic's divisions (resolution) and source, set your preferences (e.g. uniform tile size vs. variable) and let cf/x alpha do the rest.

Fill canvas: instant collages & contact sheets

cf/x alpha generates instant collages and contact sheets for you. Drag & drop a selection of pictures (or an entire folder) onto the canvas, choose 'fill canvas' from the 'transform' menu - or simply use the respective item in the toolbar - and then see how alpha creates a pleasing composition or a professional contact sheet (checkerboard format).

Apply Logos and Watermarks in seconds

Applying a logo or watermark is one of the most basic image composition tasks around. Simply drop your logo onto the canvas. Or choose a text effect. Or choose a knockout blend. Or get wild, and use all three. No matter what, watermarking your masterpiece is something that won't take more than a very short moment of your time with alpha.

cf/x alpha is all about arranging multiple images into a composition. You always work on one convenient canvas. Arrange whole images and keep the big picture. Let alpha render your composition for the final exact size and pixel-perfect fit.
Or have alpha generate a lay-out for you. After alpha arranges a collection of images for you, jump in, and re-arrange to your heart's content.
Photoshop artists might find this surprising at first -- in alpha you artfully arrange complete images, and let the application handle the rest. The images have become the pixels of old.

So thats what the 'f/x' in cf/x stands for

Although alpha is not an image editor, it allows you to add a host of fully configurable special effects to your images. After all, we are one of the foremost names in digital effects, so it would be a shame to let all that great code go to waste, right?

cf/x alpha currently sports over seventy real-time effects that run the gamut from color correction over stylize effects to annotation. Just try to remember that alpha is for image composition, will you...?

Maximum tattoo

In addition to a full compliment of image f/x, we have added a new class of enhancements that we call 'tattoos'. These tattoos are highly configurable line artwork that can be placed on top of any image to give it additional texture. In the example to the left we have given our logo a honeycomb texture. Of course, all tattoos use transparency and blend exactly as you expect them to. Note, for example, how the tatoo is cut exactly to the round shield shape. This is done by the image's mask, and required no extra effort.

Fully Scriptable (PRO version only)

Many of the great things you can do with cf/x alpha (apply a logo / watermark, arranging a bunch of photos from a folder into a collage, create a contact sheet) are so useful that you use them time and time again. This is when you want to automate these steps so that your enhancements are only mouseclick away.
