Q: How do I install cf/x alpha?
A: Go to he download page, and download cf/x alpha. You can download and test alpha without purchasing it (in fact we recommend you do that). Once downloaded, double-click the downloaded file (a '.dmg' -- disk image). A new window opens. Drag the alpha icon (a black circle with the greek letter 'alpha' in the middle) to your 'Applications' folder - or any other location you prefer.
Q: How do I remove cf/x alpha?
A: Simple drag the alpha icon (the black circle with the greek letter 'alpha' in the middle) to the trash, and empty the trash. There are no other files you need to remove.
Purchasing a License
Q: All my exports have 'DEMO' written over them in large, translucent letters
A: cf/x alpha runs in demo mode. To turn demo mode off you need to enter a license code. License codes can be purchased on-line within a few minutes.
Q:How do I purchase a License?
A: Note: For this it is required that your Mac is on-line. Go to the 'Special' menu, and choose 'Purchase License'. alpha will go on-line, and contact the secure on-line store. Once you have successfully purchased a license, it is automatically transferred and activated. You will also (a few minutes later) receive an email confirming your purchase and with all license information. Keep this email safe, as you can use it to re-activate the license should your Mac experience a drive failure or needs to otherwise be re-formated.
Q: My Mac is not on-line. Can I still purchase a License?
A: Although your Mac that is running cf/x alpha does not need to have web access, you need to connect to the web somehow to purchase a license via our web store. Once you have purchased a license from the web store, you will receive the license code via email. Print out this email, and then enter the license manually using the 'Enter License' command in the 'Special' menu.
