The new color themes are part of the free upgrade to 1.3 -- use the themes to change the style of your compositions with a single click:

Standard3
Standard

This is the standard theme. It leaves all images untouched. Works well with all images.

BlackWhiteStandard
Black & White Standard

This theme automatically converts all imported images into black & white (greyscale) images.
Looks especially good with either black or white frames..

BlackWhiteStrongContrast
Black & White Strong Contrast

This theme automatically converts all imported images into black & white (greyscale) images. During conversion, a blue and (faux-) IR filter is applied.
The result has strong contrast, with all blues being strongly emphasized and darkened.
Very well suited for landscape photos with lots of blue sky.

Seventies
Seventies

All images take on the look of photos shot in the 70s with a cheap 35mm camera and cheaper film. Better yet, the images look as though theyhave not aged all that gracefully.
Images have their colors shifted towards yellow, and there is discernible vignetting.

item1
1889

Go back in time to 1889 when celluloid-based film was invented and the Eiffel Tower was built.
The images are black and white, some vignetting is visible, and everything has a dreamy haze.
You should have been there.

Sepia
1889 Sepia

Again we go back in time to the beginning of modern photography.
The images become black and white, processing was done using sepia tone, some vignetting is visible, and everything has a dreamy haze.
Same as the "1889" theme but with a sepia tone.

Sepia1
Sepia

All images are processed to resemble the "sepia" tone that old b&w images acquire when they age.
No vignetting.

GlaringLight
Glaring Light

Significantly increases bright parts of the image, washing out differences in the bright spectrum. This gives the impression that any light present was glaringly bright.

BlackWhiteGlaringLight
B&W Glaring Light

The same glaring light processor but with all images converted to greyscale before.
Since the "color" range in greysclae is much more limited, the glare effect is much more pronounced, which usually leads to a nicely over-exposed image.
The result looks like a collage that was photocopied with a cheap b&w copy machine.

MediterraneanLight
Mediterranean Afternoon

A mid-red color gradient filter (top down, light red to clear) is applied to all images, giving the impression of late-afternoon mediterranean sun to all images.
If you have never experienced such a late-afternoon mediterranean sun yourself, perhaps it is time to visit the region again.
Works best for landscape photos, least for portraits

Desert
Desert Evening

An orange color gradient filter (top down, orange to clear) is applied to all images. The color strongly resembles that of light during early evening hours in an northern african desert.
Works best for photos of vast sandy landscapes or villages with buldings composed of sandstone.

VintageColorInstantCameraFilm
Vintage Color Instant Camera Film

Recreates the color range and "fidelity" of 1970s color instant camera film.
Works best with portraits or group photos. You never look good in those images, but the picture always looks great.

HardPhotoPaper
Hard Photo Paper

All images look as if they were printed on "hard" (ISO 50) old-skool photo paper, eliminating soft gradients. Of course, the photo paper is black and white only.
Works really well with portraits and architectural photos.

Quicksilver
Quicksilver

Everything is turned into quicksilver (a silvery metal that is liquid at room temperature. Some people call it "Mercury" when clearly "quicksilver" sounds so much better). The whole world. Surreal.
Ever seen T2? Now you know how the world looked if everything was made from that stuff...

PencilDrawing
Pencil Drawing

Turns all photos into pencil drawings (dark grey on white background).
Hey, don't blame the artist if you look bad!

Blueprint
Blueprint

Turns all photos into blueprints. Yeah, wierd. But hey, it works!
Only for those who already have used every other theme.

ColorEdges
Neon Lights

This one is difficult to describe, but nice to look at. It "sorta makes all contours glow in their own color, man..." Try it - you'll like it.'
Requires images that have strong contrast to look good.

Lithograph
Lithograph

Similar to the "Pencil" theme, but your photos now resemble a lithograph. Lines are somewhat more coarse, and darker.
Works well with images that have both strong contrast and fine detail.

LiquidGold
Liquid Gold

Like "Quicksilver", but with gold.
If you have seen "Goldfinger", you will know how people will look like.

Psychedelic
Psychedelic'

Ok, you know what this is.
Just don't tell anyone where you got it, ok?.
